Ruthie Mae Adams, 78
Ruthie Mae Adams, 78, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 14, 2026.
Though she has left this earthly home, her gentle spirit has found rest and peace in the loving arms of Jesus. In heaven, she is made whole again, now walking in the presence of the Lord. Ruthie was born on September 18, 1947, in Altamont.
She was the daughter of Forrest Edgar Rhea and Veola Mae Sweeton Rhea.
She was a 1965 graduate of Grundy County High School. She was known as Mama and Nannie Ruthie as she treasured every moment spent with her family. She will be fondly and forever remembered for her love of quilting, enjoyment of NWA Wrestling, cheering on the Tennessee Volunteers, fishing, and her love for her favorite snack of donut sticks and peanut butter Little Debbie cakes. She had a sweet and kind spirit that made her deeply loved by all who knew her. She especially loved the color mint green, the color that brought her peace, joy, and happiness. She was a humble, loving woman who found joy in life’s simple blessings and the people she held dear. She lived with the effects of polio for many years as her steps on earth were few. Her steps in heaven now are many as she walks the streets of gold with everlasting joy and peace forevermore. Her family and friends will carry her love and memory in their hearts always.
