Heather Lawley, 53

It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing that my loving wife Heather Lawley (Radabaugh), 53, of Royse City, Texas, passed away peacefully with family around her on May 31, 2026, at her home after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. She fought like a warrior and inspired others to get checkups and fight.

Heather was born in 1972 in Middletown, Ohio, the daughter of Richard Radabaugh and the late Travis Radabaugh. She graduated from the University of North Texas with her bachelor’s degree and was working on her MBA. She was an avid Jazzercise instructor of 17 years and loved encouraging and helping people get enjoyment and physically fit through dance. She was the Sales Director for Home2 Suites Rowlett, very active in the Rowlett and Rockwall Chambers of Commerce and a member of the Rockwall Art League. She had a passion for hospitality and travel working in hotels and as a travel agent. She loved dancing, painting and photography, as well as making people feel welcome and happy. She especially loved being outdoors; hiking, climbing, paddle boarding, kayaking, cycling and camping. When the children were younger, she was an active leader in Scouting with the Cub Scouts, Venturing, and Girl Scouts and inspired many youth to accomplish Eagle and Gold awards.

She has always been very spiritual and recommitted herself to the Lord last October. Her spirit is now in Heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and she was surely welcomed by a heavenly host of angels. God has released her from her earthly bonds and her pain is gone. God is great and one day we will be reunited in Heaven. Thank you for all the prayers and support from so many. It made her final journey on this planet more tolerable with all the love.

Heather held a deep affection for spending time with her family and is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Steven; sons, Jonathan and Christopher; Patrick who she took in as a son; two dogs, Brady and Mercy; brother Nathan (Rocio); three nieces/nephew, Elaina (Shane), Elijah (Luna), and Haley, who she helped raise; niece, Layla; grand-nephew, Noah; father, Richard along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss her.

A celebration of life service will take place at 2 p.m. on June 27, 2026, at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 2500 TX-66, Rockwall, TX 75087.

The internment of her ashes will take place on July 26, 2026, at the Swiss Colony Cemetery in Gruetli-Laager following the annual Swiss Heritage Celebration being held the day before.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Network (PanCAN) in her memory (https://pancan.org). She would also want everyone to get an annual cancer screening to help avoid the pain that she went through and do not take life for granted. Rejoice and remember her wonderful, vibrant life and how she impacted so many people.
