Election office reveals deadlines, options for voters

With early voting for the November elections just a month away, the Grundy County Election office is in full swing, readying for the final election of 2026.

The election is set for Nov. 3 and locally will include all of Grundy County including municipal elections in Altamont, Beersheba Springs, Coalmont, Palmer, Gruetli-Laager, Monteagle and Tracy City. Voter registration deadline is Oct. 5.

“A mail-in Voter Registration Application Must be postmarked by this date in order to be processed,” the election office noted. “State law requires forms Postmarked after this date to be held and processed after the Election”

Elderly voters and voters will disabilities will be accommodated under the Elderly Voters and Voters with a Disability law (T.C.A. 2-3-109 (e) (1) and (2) (A)).

“A Voter assigned to Vote at a Voting Precinct that is not accessible has the right to come to the County Election Commission Office to vote either during the period established for Early Voting or on Election Day and have the right to vote absentee by-mail,” the election office explained. “To do so, Voter must provide the Election Commission with a written notice no later than October 24, 2026 of his or her intention to vote at the commission office on Election Day.”
