Halloween fun is coming to Gruetli-Laager this Saturday, Oct. 24, as Halloween in the Park takes place at Gruetli-Laager Recreation Park, located behind Swiss Memorial Elementary School.

The event will bring the community together for an evening of Halloween festivities and family fun. The day will start with a nighttime parade. Lineup is at 5 p.m. at Braden’s Feed Store. A reminder that UTVs/ATVs that will be in the parade must be decorated, the only exception to enter the parade not decorated will be classic/show vehicles.

Due to the parade being at night there will be no candy thrown during the parade for safety purposes. At 6 p.m. the parade will start and will go from the feed store all the way to the park. After the parade all the fun activities will begin. Activities include a costume contest, pumpkin throwing, an apple and pumpkin pie baking contest, a pumpkin clean out contest, and a cake walk. There will be fun for the whole family. Music will play all night and vendors will be set up with all sorts of goodies. Everyone come out, celebrate, and have a good time.
