Second annual Gravy Gallop 5K to benefit Isaiah 117 House

Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to lace up their shoes for a good cause as the second annual Gravy Gallop 5K returns Saturday, Nov. 21, at Chapman’s Chapel Nazarene Church in Pelham.

The Thanksgiving-themed event will begin at 8 a.m., with registration opening at 7 a.m. at the church, located at 273 Chapman Chapel Road.

More than just an opportunity for participants to challenge themselves or set a personal record, the Gravy Gallop will support a worthy cause. Net proceeds from the event will benefit Isaiah 117 House, an organization dedicated to providing a safe, comforting environment for children awaiting foster care placement.

Organizers hope the event will bring the community together for a morning of fitness, fellowship and giving back while supporting an organization that makes a difference in the lives of children and families.

Early registration is available through Nov. 2 at a cost of $35 for adults and $10 for children ages 6-17. Participants who register by the early deadline are guaranteed an event T-shirt.

Beginning Nov. 3, registration fees increase to $45 for adults and $15 for children ages 6-17. Children ages 5 and younger may participate free of charge.

Medals will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place finishers in each category, with first-place winners also receiving a pie in keeping with the Thanksgiving spirit. A trophy will be presented to the overall fastest runner.

Participants of all ages and fitness levels are encouraged to take part.

Registration fees may be paid through Venmo, cash or check.
