Yellow Jackets Getting The Work In

In their most recent 7 on 7 action the Yellow Jackets won all four games they played.
“It was a fun experience for the players and coaches to be able to bond together as a team. Everyone got plenty of reps and game time experience,” said Coach Nick Bryant.
Grundy downed Franklin County 4-3 with Logan Meeks scoring twice and Christian Brown and Alex Nunley scoring once each. Then the Jackets defeated Huntland 4-2. Christian Brown scored twice. James McDaniel and Logan Meeks had one each.
The Jackets downed Franklin County again 5-1. Christian Brown, James McDaniel, Dakota Jones, Luke Hiett and Corbin Lusk all scored. In their final contest Grundy defeated Moore County 2-1. Christian Brown made both scores.
“It was another excellence job by the team in the 7 on 7 winning all the games. There were many great plays by the players. The team passing part of the offense is looking sharp with the timing between the quarterback and the receivers,” said Bryant.
A new feature in the event was a linemen challenge and Grundy finished in second place overall. The Jackets finished first in the tug of war, fire truck pull, bench press and keltbell hold. A new record was set in the lineman challenge by Terrince Bramhall with a 2 minute, 12 second hold on keltbell and bench press reps of 225 lbs for 26 reps. The next closest was 12 reps by Eldon Posey.
“The lineman did an awesome job of competing. They did an excellence job in many different events that lasted from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm. Terrince Bramhall led the charge with support from Eldon Posey, Steven Baskin, Jack Rice, Austin Jackson and many more,” complimented the coach.
The Jackets continue to prepare for the upcoming season. The annual Sequatchie Valley Jamboree will be held August 15, at Whitwell High School.
