On December 7, the Grundy County Veteran’s Historical Society will host the sixth annual World War II Veteran’s Recognition Luncheon at Coalmont Community Center. The group invites all WWII Veterans to come together for a celebration of their outstanding Service to our country. WWII Veterans and a guest will be treated to a home cooked meal from volunteers in the community. The late Mr. Y. B. Ashby originated this celebration six years ago. The Veteran’s Historical Society and Ray Winton work toward continuing to recognize and honor our veterans in many ways. The GCVHS is looking for volunteers to bring food and to help serve our “Greatest Generation.” The luncheon will begin at 12 p.m. For more information and to RSVP or to volunteer, please contact Gayle VanHooser at 931-692-3621.
