In a hard fought battle at Tracy City Elementary School on March 22, the Monteagle Elementary School varsity volleyball team lost to Swiss Memorial Elementary School in two games, 27-29 and 19-25. Aly Cummings had six aces. Megan Vinson had three aces. Hannah Gingrich had two aces and two kills. In the JV game, MES lost to SMES 15-17. Shana Hill had two aces. Ella Masters and Kara Nunley each had one ace.

volleyballAgainst TCES, the MES varsity team lost 22-25 and 13-25. Megan Vinson had three aces. Alora Meeks had two aces. Hannah Gingrich had one ace and two kills. In the JV match, MES beat TCES 15-11.

St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School played Jasper Middle School on March 24. These two schools opened the season against each other and this rematch showed just how far both teams had come. SAS won 2-0, with scores of 25 – 22 and 25 – 20. Katie Finn Hurst, Saje Mangru, Morgan Phares, Anna Post, and Mary B. Smith led the Mountain Lions on offense with strong service performances. Mary Smith led the charge on defense with an outstanding effort. The two schools also had a JV match won by SAS 25 -16. The strong serve of Sophia Carlos led the JV team.
