Volleyball Update

Tracy City Elementary School, Coalmont Elementary School, Jasper Middle School. North Elementary School, Monteagle Elementary School, and St. Andrews-Sewanee all saw recent action in the Mountain Valley Volleyball League.

volleyballAt Jasper Middle School, TCES and CES kicked off the action with Tracy prevailing in Set 1 with 25-15 and in Set 2 with 25-15. The CES JV team won 15-11.

Harley Meeks, CES, earned 3 aces. Tracy’s results included: Cassidy Cleek- 1 ace,

Haylee Guyear- 1 ace, Emily Johnson- 2 aces, Wrylee Simmons- 2 aces, and Kennedy Warren- 4 aces.

CES and JMS played next, with Jasper winning Set 1 with 25-18, and Set 2 with 25-14. Jasper’s JV won 15-7. CES stats included: Harley Meeks – 3 aces, Miranda Marlowe – 5 aces, and Kaylee Parks finished with 2 aces. Jasper’s Emily Hooten produced 10 aces, Natalie Sanders secured 8 aces, and Katie Hood served 5 aces.

The final game was between TCES and JMS. JMS took the first set with 25-17. The second set was won by TCES with 25-20. The tiebreaker went to TCES with a win of 15-12. Jasper’s JV won 15-4. Individual results for TCES: Emily Johnson – 1 ace, Wrylee Simmons – 2 aces, Kennedy Warren-3 aces and 1 kill, Cassidy Cleek – 3 aces and 1 kill, and Kaitlin Bush – 4 aces. Individual results for JMS: Emily Hooten earned 9 aces and 2 kills, followed by Natalie Sanders with 6 aces, and Kasia Price and Chloe Morrow both produced 4 aces.

At St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School on March 3, SAS played a tri-match with North Elementary School and Monteagle Elementary School. The Mountain Lions were successful in both games, defeating NES 2-0 (25-23, 27-25), and MES 2-1 (25-23, 20-25, 16-14). SAS led attack by strong service performances from Kendale James, Saje Mangru, Morgan Phares, and Mary B. Smith. This potent bout was aided by aggressive net play by Anna Post.
