The Stoker-Stampfli Farm Museum in Gruetli-Laager needs your help. On April 20-21, the Grundy County Swiss Historical Society will have two work days to complete needed repairs on the farm. These work days will help repair and preserve this 149-year-old farm.
The goal of the GCSHS is to preserve the Swiss Farm for local children to see what farm life was like in past decades.
The event is open to anyone who would like to help. Some of the work day projects include cleaning, sanding, and staining the outside of the caretaker cottage and laying plastic under the cottage, building a rail for the front porch and steps, replacing a post and beam at the barn, and shaving bark from pine logs for rebuilding the tiny log house.
Remember the work day dates, and mark your calendar for the upcoming Swiss Celebration on July 28.
