On November 11, Beth Brown, English teacher at Grundy County High School, presented three juniors with the Bill and Mendia Patton Patriotic Award. This award is given each Veteran’s Day to the top essay winners in the junior class at GCHS. This year’s winners were all former students at North Elementary School. Specifically, why do local veterans deserve our support, respect, and understanding? If you could deliver a message to a veteran, what would you include in that message?”
