In a recent statewide meeting of Utility District officials, Big Creek’s General Manager, Allen Joslyn, was presented the Allan Gill Leadership Award for financial and operational excellence. It is the highest award given by the Tennessee Association of Utility Districts. Joslyn has worked in the utility industry for 26 years, and has been employed at Big Creek Utility District for the past 23 years. In the past year, he has supervised the addition of 10,200 feet of ductile iron water line, the construction of a one million gallon water storage tank, and electrical and pumping upgrades to the system’s water treatment plant. Joslyn serves as alderman for Gruetli-Laager and chief of their volunteer fire department. He and his wife Charisse have two children, Jacob and Lenae, and a grandson L.J.
