For students interested in pursuing a two-year degree at a public Tennessee community college or a program via a Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT/vo-tech), the Tennessee Promise application must be completed and submitted by November 1.
To apply for Tennessee promise, go to www.tn.gov/collegepays. There students will create an account, log-in, click “Apply for Scholarships”, and then select “Tennessee Promise” at the end of the list. The application will close November 1, and will not be re-opened for the current senior class.
As a reminder, there will be a quick meeting with TN Achieves on November 13, at 2:30 p.m. Students are required to attend the mandatory meetings on January 12, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. and on March 9, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the GCHS cafeteria. Parents are encouraged and welcome to attend all meetings, however, students are required to attend the January 12 and March 9 meetings. Mark your calendars now.
Students must also complete eight (8) hours of community service between January 1, 2015, and August 1, 2015, if attending community college in the fall term. If a student attends a TCAT center in the fall term, they have until October 1, 2015 to complete the required community service. Community service hours must be completed each term a student wishes to receive Tennessee Promise.
