Do you know any heroes? You might think they are in movies, video games, or cartoon. However, you can find real heroes on the news, in books, and in your own community.

Grundy County libraries are planning their summer reading programs, and the theme is “Every Hero Has a Story.” Along with the program, the South Cumberland Summer Meal Program will provide food for school-age children at several of the libraries.

Participating libraries:

Altamont: Program dates are July 9, 16, 23, and 30.

Beersheba Springs: Registration – May 29; program dates are Wednesdays in July at 12 p.m.

Coalmont: Program begins in July; for information, call 592-9373.

Monteagle: Registration is now open. Program dates are Tuesdays and Thursdays, July 2 to July 30 at 10 a.m. Lunch included. For information, call 924-2638.
