Stolen Ambulance Recovered In Marion County

Posted on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 11:53 am

A Tracy City man stole an ambulance from Erlanger Hospital on Sunday morning, leading police on a chase to Marion County.

11862466_GJames Seymore, 26, of Tracy City, stole the ambulance and headed west on I-24.

Marion County Sheriff’s deputies later arrested him off exit 134 near Clifftops Avenue in Monteagle around 9 a.m. The Tennessee Highway Patrol says the automatic gate at the entrance to Clifftops prevented Seymore from driving any further.

Seymore was taken to Marion County Sheriff’s Office where he was booked into the Marion County jail and charged with driving on a revoked license.

Chattanooga Police spokesperson Rob Simmons says Chattanooga Police officers are currently seeking warrants for Seymore for charges in Hamilton County. He will face additional charges there for theft over $100,000.

Seymore had been a patient at Erlanger, but had been discharged at the time of the incident.
