Stabbing at Monteagle

Posted on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 10:32 am

On Thursday, Dillon Hilton, 23, from Fairview, pulled up to the Monteagle Shell Station in a gold Toyota 4Runner with Davidson County tags, entered, and went behind the counter and began stabbing Satish Patel, the attendant on duty.

Hilton stabbed Patel multiple times before grabbing money and a pack of cigarettes and leaving the station. 911 was called and a BOLO was immediately put out for Hilton.

Marion County Sheriff’s deputies saw the vehicle and a chase ensued to Chattanooga where the vehicle crashed, striking 2 police cars. MCSO, THP, and the HCSD arrested the suspect. According to Monteagle Police Chief Virgil McNeece, the Chattanooga Police Department was ordered to stand down and did not participate in apprehension of Hilton.

Prior to attacking Patel at the Shell Station, Hilton attempted a car-jacking at the Citgo Station in Pelham. While he was not successful at stealing the vehicle, Hilton did beat up the driver.

Hilton will face multiple charges in Marion County including Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, Theft, Evading Arrest, Assault on Law Enforcement, and Reckless Endangerment.

McNeece says Patel was released from the emergency room on Thursday evening. His wounds were not life threatening.
