The Southern Oven restaurant, on Hwy. 399, in Palmer, was featured recently in the winter edition of Tennessee Home & Farm Magazine, a publication of the Tennessee Farm Bureau.
The popular eatery was opened in January 2015, by Miranda Cleek and her sister Felicia Nolan.
“They are fulfilling a real need in the Palmer area by having a sit-down restaurant,” said Palmer Town Historian David Patton. “While out walking, I used to enjoy a piping hot hamburger fresh off the grill and we wish them many more years of success in the competitive restaurant business.”
Miranda and Felicia are the daughters of David Cleek and Rosanna Coffelt Cleek. Many of you remember their grandparents, Tom and Carrie Whitman Coffelt, who still live in Palmer, and Chet and Rose Flynn Cleek who are deceased.
