“The season is just past halfway and competition is heating up in the district, “said Coach Jason Evans. Right now, it’s anyone’s guess as to how the district will end up. Our team is beginning to mature and form those much-needed bonds to
become a legitimate threat. As we enter the second half of the season, our competition is getting better, and so our level of play has to continue to improve.
We want to be in top form come May 1 and the District Tournament. We’ve shown glimpses of turning the corner in the past week, losing to “Hits for Hope” Tournament Runner-Up (CSAS) in extra innings as well as falling to 27-1 DeKalb County Monday night in extra innings. I am very proud of this group of young ladies. Leaders are beginning to emerge; players are beginning to play beyond themselves for the team. We have
girls this year that accept whatever role they are called on to play, and do it with pride. From a Coach’s standpoint, that’s what you are looking for with tournament play right around the corner.”
