Mid-State Communications, a Manchester call center, is honoring Darlene Sitz as she begins her 25th year of service. Sitz began her career in telecommunications in 1987 as an operator for Skalar Answering Service and joined the staff at Mid-State in 1992. Currently, as Director of Operations, she is responsible for the technical aspects of the company and has seen the call center industry progress from pen and paper messaging to computer assisted answering and message delivery.
Sitz supervises a staff of 50 operators and directs the answering of calls for Mid-State’s 650 clients. She works to insure an efficient answering of all calls as the call center answers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, averaging 10,000 calls a day. Sitz is also responsible for the hiring and training of Mid-State’s operators. She has developed specialized training and job performance procedures to insure a high level of quality and accuracy. In 2009, she was charged with the task of qualifying Mid-State as an Association of Teleservices International (ATSI) certified call center. Under her leadership, Mid-state has met the qualifications for ATSI certification for the last seven years.
Alice Water, CEO, Mark Water, COO, and Beverly Berry, VP, all agree.
“Darlene is an important part of our company as both a manager and an employee. She works with staff to develop their full potential and has played a large role in Mid-State’s success and growth. We hope to have her with us for many more years.”
Sitz, a native of Tennessee, was born and grew up in the Pelham area. She currently resides in Manchester.
