A Sewanee man remained in Franklin County Jail Monday on $150,000 bond after being arrested last week following a traffic stop where authorities found 128 grams of suspected marijuana and 20.3 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Sheriff’s reports identified the suspect as Todd D. Weaver, 3375 Jump Off Road, Sewanee. He is to appear in General Sessions Court on April 19 at 8 a.m.
Reports said Sheriff’s Office personnel initiated a traffic stop in the Jump Off Road area of Franklin County on Friday, and their action led to a foot pursuit of the driver, later identified as Weaver.
Once in custody, a personal search and a search of the suspect’s vehicle yielded 128 grams of a substance believed to be marijuana along with digital scales. In addition, authorities also recovered 20.3 grams of a substance believed to be methamphetamine and $5,420.00 in U.S. currency.
Weaver was transported to the Franklin County Jail and booked on several criminal charges with federal charges expected.
Investigators Brian Brewer, George Dyer and Samuel Davidson and Deputy Martin Tyler handled the case.
