Grundy County Schools received a $7,500 grant from the South Cumberland Community Fund (SCCF) for the schools’ summer Reading Initiative. The program will take place at Coalmont and North elementary schools in June.
“We are looking forward to this summer’s reading initiative because it will provide students a time to enjoy creative outlets related to reading and enhance their love of reading,” said Director of Schools Jessie Kinsey.
This grant comes from SCCF’s Capacity Building Program, which supports wide-ranging projects that strengthen community programs, share information, and teach best practices.
“South Cumberland Community Fund is delighted to work with the Grundy County School system on this exciting summer program,” said Laura Willis, SCCF executive director. “We want to support efforts to instill a love of learning, and the joy of reading, to all young people, and this summer project will do that.”
