A Grundy County Schools transportation van was involved in a three vehicle crash on February 2, around 7:40 a.m., on Highway 56 near Lockhart Town Road.

The van, transporting two high school students and one elementary school student, was rear ended after stopping for a car in front to turn left.

There were no serious injuries, but one high school student was treated by EMS onsite. Grundy County Sheriff Clint Shrum said none of those involved in the accident were being transported to the hospital.

Grundy County Schools Transportation Director Billy Moon stated they were waiting for parents to arrive to determine if the students involved in the crash would go on to school or return home. The transportation office will follow normal accident procedures to verify the cause of the accident.
