Marie Schaerer celebrated her 95th birthday on January 18, at the First Baptist Church in Tracy City. Her four children – Ron Schaerer, GeorgiAnn Brown, Bryan Schaerer, and Julie Seckman – hosted the party which included a luncheon and a video highlighting her first 95 years. In attendance were many of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and dear friends.
Marie first moved to Tracy City in 1946, as a newlywed, with her husband Sam (the son of Sol and Georgia Schaerer). The couple moved to Chicago shortly after that and then to Florida. However, for 67 years, they came back to the family home in Tracy City each summer. The home was built in 1881 and has now been in the Schaerer family for six generations.
Marie moved back to Tracy City with her daughter GeorigiAnn after Sam passed away in 2016, and just recently moved to Decatur, Georgia, to be with her youngest daughter Julie.
