County clerk introduces new self-renewal kiosk
Grundy County Clerk Tammy Sholey is introducing new self-service kiosks that renew vehicle registrations. The first of these will be located at Citizens Tri County Bank in Tracy City, and will give you the flexibility to renew your car tags at this location instead of driving to the courthouse.
The process is user friendly and easy to follow. To begin the registration process, you will need your renewal notice from the State of Tennessee containing the bar code. Scan the bar code and the system will retrieve your vehicle and plate information. Once you verify the information provided by the bar code, you will have the option to donate to organ donor awareness. Next, swipe your credit card and the registration will be verified with the State of Tennessee Motor Vehicle database. Once verified and the payment is accepted, the kiosk will print your registration and the decal to place on your plate.
The kiosk was designed with strict data security in mind. At no point during the transaction is any personal information displayed.
Grundy County is one of the first counties in the state to offer a kiosk.
“I am excited to partner with the Tennessee Department of Revenue in unveiling the first motor vehicle registration kiosk in Grundy County. It is important that we utilize the technology available to us to increase efficiency, save money, and provide convenience to the residents of Grundy County.
The kiosk will be inside Citizens Tri County Bank, located at 26 Colyar Street, Tracy City.
