Rain has done major damage to the Yellow Jackets’ schedule over the last week. They got win in over South Pittsburg Saturday. Monday they fell to Signal Mountain. There are still some games that will be rescheduled, but many may not be made up. Grundy is now 20-5 on the season and 5-3 in district play.

“Saturday I thought would be a good tune up. We still making some mistakes we shouldn’t. We looked good at times and we didn’t we didn’t look good at times. We have to eliminate the silly mistakes. We can’t be making some of the defensive mistakes we’re making.

“Our approach to the plate today wasn’t very good. This was the same pitcher that we saw when we beat them a couple of weeks ago. We had really good approaches. Tonight we didn’t, we just didn’t look the part. I feel like that we were pressing instead of controlling of what we can control. We lost our focus. I’m disappointed to our approach to the plate and I expect this group to be better than what we showed tonight,” said Coach Jones Monday night.

Tuesday the Jackets were set to travel to Signal Mountain for the second district game. Today they host South Pittsburg at 5 p.m. Friday Grundy travels to Huntland for a 6:30 p.m. game. Saturday they host Shelbyville at 1 p.m. Monday night is senior night when the Jackets host Marion County at 6:30 p.m. Get out and support the Jackets this week.
