pictures of our past 7-17The Gillie Family: L to R: George, Barnett, Charles Hatton Gillie, Hattie, Frances “Fannie” (Flynn) Gillie holding daughter Louise, Mary and Elizabeth. Two other daughters who died young are Estell (1896-1899) and Lola (1897-1897); both are buried in marked graves in the Tracy City Cemetery. Three other sons Charles, Ben and Roy Thomas were born after the photo was taken around 1908. Charles Hatton Gillie (1874-1950) is the son of Benjamin Franklin and Elizabeth (Phipps) Gillie. His wife Fannie (1877-1932) is the daughter of Michael “Mike” and Elizabeth (Keeling) Flynn. They married on December 25, 1894 in Grundy County. Charles worked in the coal mines in Grundy County and in Jefferson Coounty, AL. He died in Whitwell, Marion County. Fannie died and was buried in Jefferson Co., AL.
