The Grundy County Historical Society voted recently to sponsor the writing and publishing of a coffee table style pictorial history book to celebrate Grundy County’s 175th anniversary in 2019.
The primary content of the book will be historic photographs submitted for free by Grundy County families and residents, past and present. All walks of life in Grundy County will be included: farming, industry, historic homes and buildings, organizations, schools, churches, families, businesses, and more.
The hardbound book will be published by Acclaim Press, a publisher in Sikeston, Missouri, that has published over 100 county history books nationwide, both pictorial and family history. The company will assist the Historical Society and county residents throughout the project.
Members of the book committee include committee chairman Barry Rollins, Janelle Taylor, Barbara Myers, Kirby and Gabby Crabtree, Willene Campbell, and Nadine Moore.
Later this month, brochures on how to submit your photos and order books will be distributed through the entire county.
