Officer Involved Shooting in Estill Springs

Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation have responded to a fatal officer-involved shooting in Franklin County.

According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy was attempting to serve a warrant to a 33-year-old Michael Adams who had multiple arrest warrants.

The incident happened at 5:35 p.m.off of Circle Drive in Estill Springs in Franklin County.

Adams ran from deputies leading them on a fimageoot pursuit. Officials said the suspect then ran toward a deputy and pulled out a knife, after which the deputy shot and killed him.

TBI agents and a team of Forensic Scientists took the lead in the investigation.
