Joyce Marie Greeter Henley, 88, of Decherd passed away Nov. 15, 2022. She was born on Sept. 4, 1934, a native of Grundy County.
Henley was a traditional southern lady. She enjoyed cooking, music, the family pets, and farm animals. She truly loved her family. She became an astute business person and was a role model for many women. She worked side by side with her husband, the late Claude Willis Henley. They established Henley Farm Supply, H and D Feed Mill, Henley Supply, and Henley Supply Millwork and continued her family’s business, Greeter Lumber Company. They touched many people’s lives through their businesses in Franklin, Grundy, Coffee, and Rutherford Counties. The Henleys were also beef and dairy farmers.
Henley was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Claude Willis Henley; her parents, Werner and Marguerite Greeter and infant child, Claudia Henley.
Surviving are son, Sam W. Henley; daughters, Dr. Joy Henley McKee, Fayna Henley (Jeff) Sargent, and Christina Henley (Philip) Duncan; grandchildren, Willis (Bethany) McKee, Robert McKee, Jared Henley, Dillon Henley, Laura Henley, Forrest (Anna) Duncan, and Hence Duncan; great-grandchildren, Willa McKee, Lillian McKee, and Camilla McKee.
The family will have a private family service in the Moore-Cortner Chapel.
