Morrison, Tenn. resident and Martin, Ky. native Equilla Rebecca Myers Bell, 71, was born March 8, 1951 and died November 28, 2022 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville following a brief illness.
A homemaker and member of West Side Baptist Church, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Equilla Bivens Shrum. She was married to Michael A. Bell of Viola, Tenn. on April 28, 1995. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Larry Myers and sisters, Rosie Shrum, Dorothy Martin, Naomi Hall, Argie Moore and Ester Wood.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Bell is survived by son David (Teri) Myers of McMinnville; daughter Christie (Bobby) Jones of McMinnville; four grandchildren Dakota Myers and Haleigh (Eli) Johnson, both of McMinnville, Natalie (Hunter) Layne of Palmer and Ashlee (Corey) Seymour of Cookeville; great-granddaughter Isla Grace Johnson; step-daughter Melissa Bell of McMinnville; three sisters Mary Hartline, Katherine Wood and Lois Doss; two brothers Sam Shrum and Paul Shrum; step-brother Ansil Shrum; and many nieces, nephews and other family members.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Dec. 1 in High’s Chapel with John Potts and Tommy Lusk officiating. Burial will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Coffee County. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-9 p.m. and Thursday from 12 p.m. until time of service at High’s.
