MAYES, GLENN, A., age 75, of Tracy City, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2015, at Emerald-Hodgson Hospital in Sewanee. A native of Grundy County, he was born on March 26, 1940 in Tracy City to the late Roy Clinton and Viola (Patrick) Mayes. A graduate of Grundy County High School, Glenn has worked as Book Keeper for Grundy County Sheriff’s Department, Mayor of Tracy City, City Recorder of Tracy City, and for TVA. He loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren, as well as his church family at the Central Church of Christ in Tracy City.
Glenn is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maxine Layne Mayes of Tracy City; daughters, Lindy Gay (Gary) Lappin and Cindy Kay (Michael) Gipson, both of Coalmont, and Glenda Darlene (Robin) Dykes of Tracy City; son, Keith Alan (Kimberly) Mayes of Tracy City; sister, Mary Ruth Rogers of Palmer; brother, Byron D. (Carlene) Mayes of Tracy City; grandchildren, Kelly (Chip) Andy, Kayla (Kyle) Harris, Justin Derrick (Ari) Dykes, Dustin Cody Dykes, and Hali Brooke Gipson; and three great-grandchildren. A Graveside Service was held on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Monteagle Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Moore-Cortner Funeral Home, Winchester, TN.
KNOTT, KATHERINE, WILLIAMS, age 91, of Tracy City passed away in her sleep Monday, July 20, 2015 at her home. She was born in Monteagle, a daughter of the late Robert Jackson “Bob” Rollins and Levester Thomas Rollins and was preceded in death by her husbands, Gene Williams and Frances Lee Knott; son, Billy Joe Williams; grandson, Brian Williams; daughters, Janie Beatrice and Jewellene Williams; sisters, Mary Sitz, Pauline Risley and Dorothy Layne; brothers, Bud, Paul and Dale Rollins.
She is survived by her children, Jannette Phillips, Jasper, Bruce (Carol) Williams, Monteagle, Robert (Reba) Williams, Gruetli-Laager, Kathy (David) Tate, Tracy City, Mary Edith (Dennis) Cook, Tracy City, Danny Ray (Crickett) Williams, Sequatchie, Linda (Eddie) Carson, Jasper; 23 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

CURTIS, JUANITA, CAROL, HARLAN, age 84, of Coalmont, Tennessee passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Southern Tennessee Health Services Systems in Sewanee, Tennessee. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Murphy; parents, Friend and Emma Harlan; daughter, Barbara Mesa; grandson, Joey Murphy.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Laura) Murphy, Ohio; daughters, Debra Ann (Harvey Lestel) Meeks, Coalmont, TN, June Murphy, Ohio, Carol (Andy) Bellina, Ohio; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

STRANAHAN, RICHARD, “SQUEAK”, GIBSON, JR., age 61, of Monteagle, Tennessee passed away on Monday, August 10, 2015 with his family by his bedside. He was the son of the late Doris Webster and preceded in death by his brothers, Darrell, Edward and Preston Webster.
