WISE, PEGGY, DIANE, 61, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, June 10, 2014. She was born in Whitwell on July 29, 1952 to Charles Andrew and Jennie Olene Haynes Shrum who preceded her in death along with her brother, Billy Shrum. She was a member of the Laager Congregational Methodist Church and retired teacher from the Grundy County School System.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Wise; sons, Don and Cody (Melinda) Wise; brothers, Bobby (Sharon) and Jerry (Carolyn) Shrum; sisters, Nadine (Houston) Nolan, Sue (Isaac) Parson, Marie Miller and Hilda (Arnold) Dickson; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 13 in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Larry Campbell, Jessie Lockhart and Larry Crabtree officiating.

Burial was in Fall Creek Cemetery.

LOCKHART, JASON, WALLICE, 34, of the Griffith Creek Community, died Thursday, June 12, 2014. He was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on December 16, 1979.

He is survived by his father, Jerry Lockhart, Whitwell; mother, Dianne Cherry, Sargent, Texas; wife, Sarah Lockhart; daughter, Elizabeth Riley Hicks; step-daughter, Natalie Nunley; sister, Dana Michelle (Johnnie) Reznicek, Wallis, Texas; brother, Michael Allen (Amber) Lockhart, Wallis, Texas; loving nieces and nephews and a host of cousins, aunts and uncles.

Graveside funeral services were held Monday, June 16 at the Palmer Cemetery with Minister Jason Bryant officiating.

Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.


NUNLEY, ROBERT, VERNON, age 79, of Tracy City, TN, passed away at his home Saturday, June 14, 2014. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou (Nell) Nunley; parents Vernon and Anna Mae Nunley; brother Charles Nunley.

He is survived by his wife Faye Cannon Nunley; sons Stephen Nunley (Angela) and Richard Nunley; step daughters Shirley (Sandy) Morris and Betty Cannon; sister Drucilla (Larry) Myers; grandson, Eric Copeland.

Funeral services were held Monday, June 16 in the chapel of Foster and Lay Funeral Home with Reverend Barry Nolan and Claude Hoback officiating.

Burial was in Plainview Cemetery.

ZDANOWSKI, FRANCES, VIRGINIA, age 68, of Tracy City, TN, passed away at her home Tuesday, June 10, 2014 after an extended illness. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Coalmont, TN, and also worked as a volunteer at the Appalachian Women’s Guild for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents James Carl and Hallie Marie Rector Hogwood; son-in-law Richard Huckabee; brother James (Zeb) Coffelt; sister, Alice Vinson.

Survivors include her loving husband, Michael Stephen Zdanowski; son Charles Edward Condra; daughters and son-in-laws Susan (Clifford) Skiles, Tena Huckabee, Mary (Joseph) Starr, Jamie (Jason) Sidsworth and Alicia Zdanowski; brothers, Sam (Lucille) Coffelt, Carl Jr. (Nora) Hogwood; sisters Lois (Bill) McCallie, Carolyn (Mark) Jackson; grandchildren, April (Chris) Rector, Keena (Chad) Johnson, Tarena (Kenneth) Moore, Jeremy (Mandy) Long, Sarah Wynne, Hallie Sidsworth, Olivia Sidsworth; great grandchildren, Amber Skiles, Rebecca Muir, Britany Johnson, Crissy Moore, Logan Moore, and Eli Wynne; great-great grandchildren Cameron, Aubry and Braylon Skiles.

Graveside services were held Thursday, June 12 at Coalmont Cemetery with Brother Ray Winton officiating.

ANDERSON, DOUGLAS, ELISHA, age 55, of Tracy City, TN, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 in Centennial Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was a son of the late Elisha and Dorothy Anderson and had worked at Nunley Poultry.

Survivors include his sons, Donny, Derrick, and Robert Anderson; daughters, Brandy, Alicia, Kelia, Nicky, Manda, Kisha and Desiree; brothers, Rob, Tony, Gene, Herbert, David, C.L. and Floyd Anderson; sisters, Betty Parson, Gussie Anderson, and Mae Anderson; 12 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 18 in the funeral home chapel.

Burial was in Coalmont Cemetery.
