SANDERS, SUZETTE, NUNLEY, age 56, of Palmer, passed away Thursday June 4, 2015 at a Chattanooga Nursing Facility. She was born in Whitwell, Tennessee on June 26. 1958 to Glenn A. and Jimmie Ruth “Boots” Finch Nunley who preceded her in death along with her daughter Misti Sanders. She is survived by sister, Lynn (Jimmy) Campbell; brother, Glenn Anthony Nunley (Rose); precious grandsons, Tyler and Trenton Sanders and their father Brian (Candie) Sanders; nephews, Mark (Amber) Campbell, Aaron (Laura) Campbell and Jeremey (Alissa) Meeks; niece, Sarah Campbell; special companion, Earnie Cauley, Keystone Heights, Florida. Funeral services were held Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Matt Henderson and John Potts officiating. Burial followed in the Palmer Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
BLAKLEY, DEBORAH, L., CARROLL, age 52, of Altamont, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at her residence in Clio, Michigan. She was born on December 10, 1962 in Altamont, Tennessee to Delbert and Grace Hobbs who preceded her in death along with her brother, Ronnie Hobbs. She is survived by her husband, Darrell Blakley; daughter, Sara Carroll, Owosso, Michigan; son, Gregory Carroll, Flint, Michigan; grandchildren, Elijah, Peyton, Trevor and Logan; sisters, Lillian (Larry) Dickey and Patricia (Larry) McKenzie; brothers, Ricky Hobbs and Dwayne (Lisa) Dodson. Funeral services were held Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed in the Little Johnny Myers Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, TN.
GIBBS, TEDD, K., of Spring City, died Saturday, June 6, 2015 at his residence. Born in Tracy City, Tennessee, Ted was the son of the late Paul and Ida Mae Thomas Gibbs. He was a graduate of Grundy County High School. Ted had lived in the Spring City community since 1958. He was a self-employed businessman and the owner of Rocky Creek Coal and Concrete, Ted Gibbs Trucking and the Big Apple Market in Spring City. Ted also served as past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Volunteer Electric Coop. He was of the Methodist faith. He was preceded in death by nephew Thomas Ray Killian.
Survivors include his companion of 30 years, Joanna Beasley Thompson of Spring City, sons Jonathon Thompson and Justin Thompson both of Spring City, sister Martha (Raymond) Killian of Tracy City, brother Bobby Jack Gibbs of Manchester, Tennessee, nephew Paul (Kim) Killian of Decatur, great nephew Colton Paul Killian of Soddy Daisy, and other much loved family members John and Jodi Beasley and Sydney and Addyson Beasley all of Spring City.
A private funeral service and interment was held at the Plainview Cemetery in Tracy City, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Spring City Cemetery Association, P. O. Box 129, Spring City, TN 37381 or the Rhea County Rescue Squad at P. O. Box 129, Spring City, TN 37381. Arrangements were made by Vaughn Funeral Home, Spring City, TN.
