WINTON, JAMES, L., “JIMMY”, age 68, of Cumberland Heights in Coalmont, Tennessee, passed away Monday April 27, 2015.  He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on December 1, 1946 to James E. and Jean Jacobs Winton who preceded him in death along with his sister, Rhonda K. Marconi; brother, Gary Lynn Winton.  He was a graduate of the University of Florida.  He was an avid sportsman including golf and baseball. He is survived by his son, Troy Winton and his wife Theresa of Knoxville; grandchildren, Delaney and Ramsey Winton; nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Ray Winton officiating. Burial followed in the Coalmont Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, TN.

 

WHITMAN, FRANCES, NOVELLA, “TOPSY”, of Altamont, passed away at her home Saturday May 2, 2015 with her family near.  She was born in Altamont, Tennessee on March 24, 1930 to Arnold and Mary Lou Fults Tate who preceded her in death along with her husband, Elmo Whitman; brother, Robert Tate; son, Stanley Leon Whitman; grandson, Ransie Whitman. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Ann (Tony) Nunley and Glenda Elaine (Tommy) Francisco; sons, Geary Eugene (Susan), Richard Wayne “Ricky” (Pauline “Polly”) and Alan Edwin (Lora) Whitman; sisters, Gladys Ross and Judy Ann Boren; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; 4 step-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday in the funeral home chapel with Minister John Potts officiating. Burial followed in the Whitman-King-Bess Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, TN.
