ROBERTS, BREWER, JULIA, age 73, of Dunlap, passed away Tuesday May 19, 2015.  She was born in Bledsoe County on April 30, 1942 to Frank and Ruth Melton Brewer who preceded her in death.  She was of the Baptist Faith and loved to volunteer to help with any children’s activities including, kindergarten registration, The Imagination Library and the Summer Reading Program. She is survived by her husband, Harold Roberts; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Larry Powell of Dunlap; sisters, Margie (Joe) Melton, Gail (Anthony) Campbell and Kelly Boles; grandchildren, Christa and Candace Powell; great-granddaughter, Catie; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Friday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Danny Coffelt and Larry Crabtree officiating. Burial followed in the Fall Creek Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.


CLEMONS, LESLIE, CLAY, age 85, of Palmer, passed away Wednesday May 20, 2015 at the Bridge Nursing Home in Monteagle.  He was a US Army Veteran and Retired from the United States Air Force. He was born in Elizabethton, Tennessee on July 22, 1929 to James Benjamin and Rebecca Peeks Clemons who preceded him in death along with his son, Leslie Clemons; brothers, Bruce, Allen and William Clemons; sister, Theola Clemons He is survived by his daughter, Carol Miller, Moreno Valley, California; brother, Roy Clemons, Reno, Nevada; sister, Wilma Morrison, Coalmont, Tennessee; grandchildren, Amy Tester, James Banks and Scott Reese; 4 great-grandchildren. Graveside funeral services were held Friday at Palmer Cemetery with Pastor Willard Griffin officiating and Military Honors. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.


REV. ANDERSON, GARY, HOWELL, age 52, of Palmer, passed away Monday May 25, 2015.  He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on August 6, 1962.  He attended the Faith Missionary Academy Church.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Victoria Atterton; brother-in-law, Rodney Campbell. He is survived by his wife, Audrey Campbell Anderson; parents, Ed and Carolyn Anderson; son, Johsua Howell Anderson; daughters, Valerie and Alivia Anderson; brother, Carl Anderson; sisters, Kim Walker and Karen Roberts; grandson, Easton Arnold. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Stacy Smith officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Visitation: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM Wednesday and 10:00 AM – 9:00 PM Thursday at Layne Funeral Home. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.
