LEWIS, THOMAS, HOWARD, “HANK”, age 50, of Coalmont, passed away at his home surrounded by his family and friends Monday April 6, 2015.  He was born in Whitwell, Tennessee on September 15, 1964.  He was a welder and employed by L.E. Myers Electrical Contractors and a US Navy veteran.  He was a member of the Whitwell Lodge #563 Free & Accepted Masons. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, T.L. and Marie Pyburn. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Pritchett Lewis; parents, Howard Creig and Linda Faye Pyburn Lewis; son, David Michael Brady II; daughter, Katherine Diana (Tyler) Mansfield; brother, James Creig (Cyndi) Lewis; sister, Kim (Glen) Moss; grandparents, Howard and Oma Lee Lewis; and awaiting the arrival of his first granddaughter, Blakelyn Elise Mansfield; several loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday in the funeral home chapel with military honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard and a Masonic Service by Whitwell Lodge #563 F & AM Chaplain Jim Cooper. Visitation: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM Thursday. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.


LOHMANN, EVELYN, M., age 99, passed away at her home in Ooltewah, Tennessee with her family near. She was a former resident of Cumberland Heights and Madison, Tennessee.  She was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on December 18, 1915 to Merrill and Bessie Bower Smith who preceded her in death along with her husband, Melvin Lohmann; grandchildren, Leslie D. Taylor and Infant baby Lohmann; brothers, Cecil, Harold, Johnny Eugene and Raymond Smith. She was a member of the Collegedale Seventh-Day Adventist Church and had been a member of the Cumberland Heights SDA Church. Mrs. Lohmann was a LPN, taught music and served as church organist for over 50 years.  She is survived by her daughter, Nadene A. (Jeff) Taylor, Cleveland, TN; sons, Ronald R. (Kay) Mohr, McDonald, TN, Terry G. (Sandra) Lohmann, Chattanooga, TN; step-daughter, Myrna Games, Hemet, California sister, Jeannene “Jeri” Smith, Burbank, California; brother, Jack (Elizabeth) Culver, Celina, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Clayton Jones and Pastor Jim Herman officiating with burial to follow in the Cumberland Heights Cemetery. Visitation: 12:30 PM until time of service Saturday at Layne Funeral Home, Altamont. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, TN. 


MCCORMICK, RAYMOND, EARL, age 81, of Morrison, TN and a Warren County, TN native, was born July 13, 1933 and died April 7, 2015 at his residence following a five-year illness. A retired logger and a member of the Baptist Church, he was the son of the late Jim and Minnie Sanders McCormick. He was married to Tressie Myers McCormick who preceded him in death. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Waymon Earl, Larry David and Bud McCormick.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Randall Lee Van Hooser of Altamont, TN; three grandchildren and spouses, Jovonna and Mark Tate of Winchester, TN, Tara and Shawn Prater of Altamont, TN and Tressie Jo Van Hooser of Altamont, TN; six great-grandchildren, Draven and Jerion Tate, and Kyler, Trace, Kade and Leara Prater; companion, Nancy Northcutt and family; brother, Howard McCormick of McMinnville; three sisters, Dorothy Rogers of Michigan, Lorene Newby of the Centertown Community and Mildred; and caregiver, Brenda Myers.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 in High’s Chapel with Ricky Basham and Dal Barrett officiating. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Coffee County, TN. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Wednesday, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Thursday, and from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday at High’s. Arrangements were made by High Funeral Home, McMinnville, TN.


CAMPBELL, WILLIAM, WAYNE, age 65, of the Flat Branch Community in Tracy City, Passed away Monday April 6, 2015 at a Chattanooga Hospital. He was born in Tracy City on February 22, 1950 to Stanley and Violet Hampton Campbell who preceded him in death along with his brother, Bobby Hampton. He is survived by his wife, Rose Nunley Campbell; daughters, April (Danny) McFarland, Meshon (Stephen) Orange, Kimberly (Alan) Mayes, Kerrie Knight, Nichelle (Terry) Caldwell and Leah Nunley; son, Jared Knight; brothers, Charles (Mary) and Ronnie (Renae) Campbell; 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Alexis, Mercedes, Josh, Jeffery, Hannah, Jeremiah, Levi, Kaylee and Cayden; nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Freddie Savage officiating with burial to follow in the Hobbs Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.


CLAY, WAYNE, age 72, of Bells Cove near Pelham, TN passed from this life Monday evening in Erlanger Medical Center. Wayne was a son of the late Elston and Selby Henley Clay and was preceded in death by his siblings, Kerry, Wendell, an infant brother and sister. He was a well-known master custom knife maker, he had sold his knives to customers in all fifty states and several foreign countries.

Survivors include his wife, Lotty Clay; sons, Lee Wayne and Kenneth Ray; sister, Connie (Elmer) Morris, Manchester; special friend, Larry Goodman; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Charles Williams officiating Burial will be in Warren Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Thursday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
