WHITE, BOBBY, LEON, age 76, of Palmer, passed away at his home Friday April 10, 2015.  He retired from the United States Marine Corp with 27 years of service and was a heavy equipment operator.  He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on March 12, 1939 to Allen Leo Bryant and Pearl Glisson White Bennett who preceded him in death along with his brother, Tim White. He is survived by his son, Bobby Leon White II, Palmer; daughters, Terry (David) Knuebel, Wilmington, NC, Tammy (Lewin) Canady, Jacksonville, NC and Regina (Jake) Beck of Palmer; sisters, Betty (Robert) Blaylock, Glenda Bays, Nancy Woppman, Kay White, Kathleen (Steve)Beckham and Sherry Nadaeu; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Mike Rigsby officiating. Burial followed in the Brown’s Chapel Cemetery.  Military Honors were provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.

 

WILLIS, JERRY, NEWTON, age 70, of the Jump Off community near Sewanee passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday morning.

A memorial service was held in the funeral home chapel with Minister Kenny Green officiating. Cremation services were provided by Cumberland Funeral Home, Monteagle, TN.

 

MANLEY, ELLA, VIRGINIA, “DOLLY”, age 66, of Tracy City passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Southern Tennessee Medical Center in Winchester. She attended Chestnut Springs Congregational Methodist Church. Mrs. Manley was a daughter of the late Earl Lynch and Kathleen Layne. She was preceded in death by her sons, Ricky Dale and Timothy Wayne Manley; brother, Steve Lynch; sister, Betty Kilgore.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Dennis Manley; sisters, Ruth Flury, Warrior Alabama and Donna Jackson, Tracy City; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Friday at the Chestnut Springs Congregational Methodist Church with Brother Freddie Savage officiating. Burial was in Plainview Cemetery. BAKER, THOMAS, GENE, age 71, of Gruetli-Laager passed away at the Harton Regional Medical Center Wednesday April 8, 2015 with his family near. He was a coalminer, worked at Hamilton Plastics and Yorozu.  He was born in New Castle, Indiana on June 20, 1943 to Jesse Edward and Laura Bell Wright Baker who preceded him in death along with his brother, James Baker. He is survived by his wife, Linda Gipson Baker; daughter, Amy Guffey; son, Kelly (Amanda) Baker; sister, Suz (Jim) Cook, Indiana; brothers, Dick (Bonita) Baker and Dan (Liz) Baker, Indiana; grandchildren, Kristin (Spencer), Lyndsey, Morgan, Dillon, Hunter, Bailey, Raylan and Ayden; great-grandson, Cason and soon to be great-grandson, Easton; several nieces and nephews.  Funeral services were held Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Burial followed in the Fall Creek Cemetery.  Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.

 

RICHARDSON, LEMMA, HAZEL, age 84, of Beersheba Springs, passed away Saturday April 11, 2015 at a McMinnville Nursing Home. She was born in Beersheba Springs, Tennessee on March 23, 1931 to McKinley and Elease Walker Richardson who preceded her in death along with her sisters, Cleo Bouldin, Mary Jane Richardson, Annie Myrtle Childers, Infant sister, Iola Grace Richardson; daughter-in-law, Clayta Richardson. She attended the Cumberland Baptist Church. She is survived by her son, Everett Richardson; daughters, Marsha Knight and Bertha Whitman; grandchildren, Rickey Huntley, Alicia (Jim) Taylor, Tonya Knight, Lewis Whitman and Natasha (Michael) King; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Ministers, Alton Scruggs and Melvin Childers officiating. Burial followed in the Richardson Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, TN.
