BUTLER, WALTER, SR., age 87, Tracy City, Tennessee passed away February 21, 2015.

A private service was held Saturday, February, 28, 2015. Arrangements were made by Foster & Lay Funeral Home, Tracy City, TN.


NUNLEY, CHARLIE, JR., age 77, of Tracy City, TN passed away peacefully at his home Friday February 27, 2015. He was a US Navy veteran. He was born in Coalmont, Tennessee on March 21, 1937 to Charles Nunley Sr. and Fannie Nunley who preceded him in death along with his sisters, Margaret, Gladys and Little Pete; brothers, Leslie, Jimmy, Dee, Phillip, John and William. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Janie Sanders Nunley; daughter, Beverly (John) Dixon; son, Bobby Joe Nunley; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Andy Lockhart officiating. Burial followed in the Bonnie Oaks Cemetery.  Military Honors were given at the funeral home by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. Arrangements were made by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.


PATTERSON, GENEVA, GRACE, age 87, of Pelham, TN passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at Life Care Center in Tullahoma, TN surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 5, 1927 in the Payne’s Cove community of Grundy County, the daughter of the late Robert Cheatom Oliver and Allie Irene Phipps Oliver.  At age 15, she met and soon thereafter, married her husband, Dillon Patterson on April 24, 1943 in Ringgold, GA. Mrs. Patterson was a devoted homemaker who loved and cherished her family.  She was a master seamstress who also enjoyed cooking, gardening and canning.  She possessed a giving heart, always sharing her home cooked foods or her beautifully hand stitched works with family and friends.  She was known for her beautifully made porcelain dolls.  Throughout her lifetime, she assisted her husband with the family farm and also spent ten years working at Tyson Foods.  She found her greatest joy in her family and in giving to others. She will forever be missed by her loving family and friends.  She was a member of Chapman’s Chapel Church of the Nazarene. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Patterson is preceded in death by her husband, Dillon Patterson who passed away February 11, 1996; and brothers, Melvin Oliver, Marvin Earl Oliver, Jim Oliver, and a sister, Joanne Pace.

Survivors include two children, Eddie M. Patterson and wife, Susan of Murfreesboro and Theresa J. Compton and husband, Jerry also of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren, Kent Patterson of Franklin, TN and Blake Patterson and wife, Tracie of San Juan, Puerto Rico; two step-grandchildren, Marchelle Butler and husband, Billy of Alpharetta, GA and Valerie Yambor and husband, Paul of Lavergne, TN; eight great-grandchildren, Max, Ben, Holly and Lauren Patterson and Saralyn, Shawn and Bryan Yambor and Rachel Butler.   Also surviving is a brother, Bernie (Shelia) Oliver of Alto, TN and a loving, devoted care giver, Glenda Patterson and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Coffee County Funeral Chapel with Reverend Lynn Cassidy officiating. Interment will follow at Warren Cemetery in Pelham, TN. Visitation will be held Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM. Memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Patterson may be made to the charity of one’s choice. BARRY, ROSS, THOMAS, age 82, of Winchester and formerly of the Midway community near Sewanee past away Thursday evening in Southern Tennessee Health Services in Sewanee. Ross was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of St. James Episcopal Church. He was a son of the late Arthur C. and Sarah Long Barry and was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Ann Barry; brother, William E.; brother-in-law, Clyde Jacobs; step-daughters, Patricia Beck and Jeanne Merck.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Helen Barry, Winchester; son, Timothy Alan Barry and his fiancé, Tingting Xu of Murfreesboro; daughter, Karen Annette McCallie and her husband, Richard of Winchester; brother, James A. Barry and his wife, Judy of Monteagle; sisters, Evelyn Ann Jacobs, of Sewanee, Patricia Jean Shetters and her husband, Martin of Sewanee; sister-in-law, Juanita Barry of Sewanee; step-daughter, Tina Brannon; step-son, Sam Martin; grandson, Cody Alan Hoosier, and his girlfriend, Rachel Blackburn; step-grandchildren, Cassie Marie McCallie, Craig Albert McCallie and his wife, Tanya, Lori Michelle Heard, Leigh Thigpen and her husband, Thomas, Jennifer Perini and her husband, Bob, Adam Brannon, Zach Brannon, Chris Beck and his wife, Tracey, Whit Beck and his wife, Ann.

Funeral service were held Monday in the funeral home chapel with Senior Warden Jarod Pearson of St. Agnes Anglican Episcopal Church officiating. Burial was in the Eastern Star Cemetery in Sewanee. CHRISTIAN, LISA, DAWN, age 39 of Manchester, Tennessee passed away, Saturday, February 28, 2015.  Graveside Services will be held Friday, March 6 at 2 PM at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Manchester. Visitation with the family will be Friday, March 6 from 11 AM till 1 PM at Daves-Culbertson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Christian, a native of Altamont was the daughter of the late Dwight and Myrna Tate King.  She attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, David Christian of Manchester; two sons, Keagan Christian of Grundy County and Jacob Christian of Manchester; three daughters, Briaunna Partin of Monteagle and Hannah and Kaytee Christian, both of Manchester; three sisters, Andrea Richards and her husband, William of Crystal River, FL, Christy Locke of McMinnville and Heather King of Grundy County and three grandchildren, Taelyn Wright and Khloe and Kinsley Christian.

PLEASANT, RHONDA, LYNN, MEEKS, age 47, of Shelbyville passed away Monday evening, February 23, 2015, at the United Medical Center in Manchester. She was formerly of Pelham and was a cosmetologist.

She is survived by her husband, Albert Eugene Pleasant, Shelbyville; son, Patrick Meeks, Pelham; daughter, Alexis Pleasant, Shelbyville; parents, Ralph C. and Helen Medley Meeks, Pelham; brother, Richard Meeks, Murfreesboro; sister, Cindy McCord, Austin, TX; aunts, Reeda Kay Shelton, Willie Jo Medley and Mary Medley; uncle, Clifton Medley.
