MORRISON, WILLIAM, DANIEL, age 51, of Palmer, died tragically in a house fire on August 13, 2013. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee November 11, 1961. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Morrison, Jr. and his brother, Ricky “Chigger” Morrison. He is survived by his mother, Nellie D. Morrison; wife, Stephany Morrison; sons, Daniel Morrison, Wyatt and Waylon Morrison; brothers, David, Johnny, Byron and Jimmy Morrison; sisters, Vickie Cheston, Adeline Morrison, Deborah Roberts, Rebecca Morrison and Donna Gail Wilson; 4 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday February 15, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with Minister Brett Meeks officiating. Burial followed in the Palmer City Cemetery. LAY, ALMA, JEAN, BORNE, age 79, of McMinnville passed away Thursday February 12, 2015 at a Murfreesboro Hospital. She was born in Gruetli-Laager, Tennessee on July 30, 1935 to Lawrence and Maude Woodlee Borne who preceded her in death along with her husband, Clifford Lay Jr.; sister, Glenda Faye Borne; brothers, Andrew Clayton, Melvin “Snood”, Stanley and Earl Borne. She had been a telephone operator and Restaurant owner living in Colorado and Michigan. She is survived by her sisters, Christine (George) Bess, McMinnville and Mildred (Elvin) Marshall, Dearborn, Michigan; brothers, Dave Borne, Robert “Cosmo” (Doris) Borne; sisters-in-law, Virgil Marie and Virginia Borne; host of loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Clayton Jones officiating. Burial followed in the Fall Creek Cemetery. SMITH, FRANK, HAYDEN, JR., age 54, of Monteagle, Tennessee, passed away peacefully Friday morning, February 13, 2015, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Sewanee, Tennessee to the late Frank and Lorene Smith.
Survivors include his loving wife, Beverly Smith; daughter, Angel Smith of Monteagle; sons, Christopher (Amy) Smith and Matthew (Amanda) Smith both of Jasper, Tennessee; grandchildren, Ryley and Keldan; brothers, Keith Smith, Bobby Sitz, Jerry Sitz, and Jan Sitz; several loving nieces and nephews.

SHORT, KORY, DUNCAN, age 17, of Tracy City, passed away Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville after a long courageous battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Kory inspired his family, friends, care givers and any one that he met with his uplifting attitude and friendly personality. He had met many, many people throughout his brief time here, he visited the president of the United States at the White House.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Virginia C. Short; aunt, Shawna Short. Survivors include his parents, Kip and Penny Short, Tracy City; brother, Kye (Harlee) Short; sister, Kayla (Dylan) Woods; aunts, Trina Nunley and Misha Hammock; maternal grandparents, Alvin “Tiny” and Shirley Dykes; paternal grandfather, Robert “Pop” Short; nieces, McKenna Anderson and Maci Short; cousins, Katie, Jenny Beth, Madison, Trinity, Samantha, Emily and Simon; and many, many friends whom he loved and was loved.

MEEKS, PAUL, RAY, age 80, of the White City community near Tracy City, passed away Sunday morning, February 15, 2015 in Southern Tennessee Health Services in Sewanee. He was a retired timber man and was preceded in death by his wife, Faye Barrett Meeks; son, Randal Lee Meeks; brothers, Buddy, I.B., James and Robert Meeks.
Survivors include his daughter, Debra Kay (Jimmy) Stewart, Bridgeport, AL; sons, Darrell (Melissa) Barks, Beersheba Springs, Sammy Ray (Joyce) Meeks, Danny Felix (Connie) Meeks, Charlie L. (Cindy) Meeks, Timothy E. (Michelle) Meeks all of Tracy City; sisters, Evelyn Meeks and Ocie Meeks; 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

HARSHMAN SR., DALE L., age 77, entered into his heavenly home Monday, February 16, 2015. He was born on September 3, 1937, to Glenn and Ruth Slick Harshman of Winchester, IN. He was their ninth child of 16. He met and married his lifelong partner Ruth (Nunley) Harshman in 1958. They moved to the Pelham Valley in the spring of 1962. Together they raised four boys. Mr. Harshman was a lifelong member of Campground FWB Church in Pelham where he served as the service leader and deacon for many years. He was also employed at the CO-OP in Coalmont until his retirement in 1997. Due to his love of sports he proudly kept the game clock for the Pelham Tigers for many years.
Mr. Harshman will be lovingly remembered as a dedicated husband, protective father, doting grandfather and a spoiling great grandfather. He was a pillar in the Pelham community. He loved people and enjoyed being around them, but the most important things in his life where God, his family and his church.
Mr. Harshman in preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Ruth Harshman, infant son Timothy Ray Harshman; five sisters, Katie, Maggie, Mary, JoAnn, Linda; four brothers, Tobe, Bill, Robert and Johnny.
He is survived by his dedicated wife of 56 years Ruth (Nunley) Harshman; his four sons Dale (Annette), Anthony (Sherry), Brian (Sharon) Harshman all of Pelham and Stacey (Lisa) Harshman of Tracy City. Also his ten grandchildren Leslie (Keith) Jacobs of Tullahoma, Timothy Harshamn, Brittany (Jess) Roofener, Courtney (Travis) Goforth, Khylee & Gari Harshman and Cassie Walls, all of Pelham, Whit (Sarah) of Capitol Hill and Katie Slatton of Tracy City, Beth Walls of Tullahoma. His five great grandchildren Justin, Jackson and Mollie Jacobs, Alexandria Roofener, and Isabella Slatton four sisters, Joyce, Mabel, Phyllis, and Patty; brothers, Glenn, Jr. and Max Harshamn; numerous nieces and nephews.
