HOBBS, FRANK, LEE, 82, of Altamont, TN, died Monday, November 11, 2013 at Emerald Hodgson Hospital in Sewanee, TN. He was born August 2, 1931 and worked as a tower lookout for the Forestry Service and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Vivian Smartt Hobbs; brothers, Ira Hartley, Leslie, Earl and Glen Hobbs; sister, Edith Hobbs. He is survived by sister, Willie Mae Carr of Altamont, TN; sister-in-law, Frances Hobbs of McMinnville, TN; nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services were held Thursday, November 14 at the chapel at High Funeral Home, McMinnville, TN with Bishop Aaron Barrett officiating. Burial was in Hebron Cemetery in Warren County. HARGIS, MARGARET, JOYCE, 79, of Gruetli-Laager, TN, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. She was retired from the Grundy County School System after 39 years of service being a teacher, principal and worked in the central office as a supervisor. She was a member of the Palmer United Methodist Church. She was a member and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 266 Tracy City, Tennessee. She was born in Palmer on February 12, 1934 to Henry A. and Oda James Roberts who preceded her in death along with her daughter, Drema Darlene Reed; grandson, Brady McCullough; brothers, James and Dillard Roberts; sisters, Agnes Coffelt, Kathleen Jones and Mara Lee Caldwell. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 57 years, Clayton Hargis; son, Doug (Carolyn) Hargis; daughters, Clayta Cleek and Kathy (Larry) Meeks; sisters, Nancy (Earl) Rigsby and Mary Lou Creighton; grandchildren, Coy Hargis, Kayla (Ric) Anderson and Jordan McCullough; step-grandchildren, Jared (Rachel) Meeks, Aaron (Adrienne) Meeks, Cain (Jan) and Caleb Cleek; several step-great grandchildren; a host of loving nieces and nephews. An Eastern Star service was held on Friday at Layne Funeral Home in Palmer, TN. Funeral services were held Saturday, November 16 in the funeral Home chapel with Ministers John Kennedy and John Potts officiating. Burial was in Fall Creek Cemetery. FELTON, MARGIE, E., 83, died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Sheltering Arms Home in Palmer, TN. She was a member of the Church of Christ attending at Gruetli-Laager. She was born in Jasper, Tennessee on February 21, 1930 to Luther Bryan and Dellar Ophelia Caldwell Johnson who preceded her in death along with her husband, Henry Paul Felton; step-son, Thomas Felton; sisters, Irene Pickett and Willa Mae Collins; brothers, Mitchell, Sydney and Hammon Johnson. She is survived by sons, Danny J. (Sandra) Wilmoth, Boaz, AL and Bill (Sharon) Wilmoth, Blountville, TN; daughters, Ann Harris, Mount Juliet, TN, Pauline Keller, Eads, TN, Brenda Sandler, Arden, NC; step-daughter, Mary E. Rollins, Murfreesboro, TN; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services were held Thursday, November 14 at the Bonnie Oaks Cemetery in Coalmont, TN. SARGENT, SAMUEL, EDWARD, age 90, of Monteagle, Tennessee, slipped into the arms of his Savior on the early morning hours of November 18, 2013, surrounded by his family. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and great-great grandfather, barber and farmer. His life left a legacy of love and service to all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Sargent and parents, Samuel Aaron and Olive Sargent; grandson, Travis Partin. He is survived by his sons, Sam A. She was born in Altamont, TN, a daughter of the late Etheridge Barrett and Mildred Rymer Barrett and was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Barrett; step-son, Randall Lee Meeks. She loved gardening, bird watching, and all of nature’s outdoors. She loved spending time with her family and especially listening to and playing blue grass music with her sister. She is survived by a loving family including her husband, Paul R. Meeks of Tracy City; daughter, Carla “Cammie” and her husband, Bobby Orrick of McMinnville; step-daughter, Debra Kay Stewart of Bridgeport, AL; step-sons, Darrell Barks of Beersheba Springs; Sammy, Danny, Charlie, and Tim Meeks, all of Tracy City; sister, Bobbie Barrett of Altamont; brothers, Keith, Charlie and Dal Barrett, all of Altamont; grandchildren, Chloe and Rhiana Thompson; several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
