SBROWN, MARTHA, ELIZABETH, CHURCH, age 76, of Tracy City, Tennessee, passed away December 25, 2014 in Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. She was born on February 10, 1938, a daughter of the late Martin Church and Tennie Anderson Church and was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Lockhart; brother, Clarence Church; grandchildren, Joshua Darrell Brown and Beth Ann Brown.

She and her husband, Hembree Brown, Jr. celebrated their 60th anniversary on Christmas Day. She was a lifelong member of Gum Springs Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Hembree Brown, Jr; children, Darrell (Sarah) Brown; Pam Turner; Russell (Tammy) Brown, all of Tracy City, TN; Marty (Melissa) Brown, Whitwell; sister, Jean Layne, Tracy City, TN; brother, Martin Church, Jr, Kimball, TN; seven grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Saturday, December 27 in the funeral home chapel with Ministers Ernest Lockhart and John Potts officiating

Burial was in Pryor Ridge Cemetery.

FULTS, CLIFFORD, EDWOOD, 80, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014. He was a coalminer and logger and was born in Palmer, Tennessee on July 12, 1934 to Oris and Emma Layne Fults who preceded him in death along with his wife Esther Mae Perry Fults; daughter, Virginia “Susie” Bowman; and grandson, Quentin Bivens.

He is survived by his daughters, Debbie (David) Jordan and Emily (Eugene) Bivens; sons, Archie (Jan), Tuson (Regina), Rebel (Regina) and Topper (Amanda) Fults; brother, Wendell Fults; 24 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 31 in the funeral home chapel with Minister Jerry Stockwell officiating.

Burial was in Clifford Fults Cemetery.

GOODMAN, RUBY, A., age 97, passed away December 25, 2014. She was born in Slocomb, Alabama and grew up in Polk County and Osceola County, Florida. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Jesse Goodman; sisters, Marian and Christine; and sons Deryl and James.

After working for the VA in Washington, DC and as a postal clerk in Orla Vista, Florida, she served as postmaster of Loughman, Florida for over 20 years before retiring with her husband Jesse to Altamont, Tennessee.

She is survived by her son Robin Goodman and his wife Sara; grandchildren Shawn Goodman, Amy Goodman, and Becky Yelverton; great grandson Caleb Yelverton; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 30 at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel Funeral Home and Crematory, in Fort Valley, Georgia.

GRIFFITH, WILLIAM, STANFORD, “BILLY,” age 84, of Tracy City, Tennessee, passed away Monday, December 22, 2014 at his home with his family and dear friend Raymond Releford by his bedside. He is preceded in death by his parents, Taylor and Julie Shrum; infant son, Kirk Griffith; daughter, Crystal Nunley; grandson, Dustin Nunley; nephew Kevin Shrum.

Survivors include his wife Kay Griffith; sons, Billy Ray Griffith; Wayne (Samantha) Stevens; daughters, Jennifer Griffith (Troy) Nunley; Paula Clay, all of Tracy City, Tennessee; brothers, Ray (Dola) Shrum, Tracy City, Tennessee; Donald Shrum, Tracy City, Tennessee; Mike (Kathy) Shrum, Nashville, Tennessee; sisters, Orpha Myers (Russell), Monteagle, Tennessee; Peggy Gross, Henderson, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; several nephews and nieces.

A memorial service was held Sunday, December 28, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with Brother Dennis Rollins and Brother Freddie Savage officiating. Military honors were provided by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.

KING, BETTY, KATHLEEN, KILGORE, 62, passed away unexpectedly at the home of her daughter in Warrior, Alabama, Friday, December 26, 2014. She was born in Coalmont, Tennessee November 24, 1952. She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Layne Layne and brother, Steve Lynch.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Bobby) Eadie, Warrior, AL; sons, Thomas Edward (Kelly) Kilgore and Scotty Lynn (Gloria) Kilgore; brothers, Jeff and David Lynch; sisters, Dollie and Dennis Nunley, Ruth Flury and Donna (Andy) Jackson; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held at Burns Cemetery, Monday, December 29.

PROCTOR, MELINDA, age 42, passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014. She is survived by her mother and father Roger and Debi Sitz; her grams Anne Schroeder; two sons, Joshua Totherow and AJ Proctor; grandson, Jaks Totherow; sisters, Maggie Talbert Ruehling and Melissa Ramsey; brothers, James Talbert, Robbie Talbert and Danny Sitz; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, including Julia Law, Chloe Ault, and Katie Ramsey. She will be so missed and in our hearts.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Hobbs Hill Community Center at a later date.

MORGAN, CHARLES, WILLIAM, age 84, of Coalmont, Tennessee, passed away at his home Monday, December 29, 2014. He was born in Sewanee, a son of the late Garvin David Morgan and Flora Mooney Morgan and was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; daughter, Roseanna; sisters, Annie Foster and Louise Gunn.

He was a Korean U.S. Army veteran and had been a coalminer for most of his life and had also worked for T.V.A. and was a carpenter. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his children, Mike (Elizabeth) Morgan of Idaho; Samuel E. (Lori) Morgan and David William Morgan, both of Coalmont; daughter, Holly Juanita (Brian) Mooney, Coalmont; sister, Daphine “Possie” Meadows, Coalmont; grandchildren, Gavin, Jude, Kaleb, Tobey, Derek, Dylan, Morgan, Samuel, Elizabeth, Amber, John and Shawn; great grandchildren, Kaylie and Kaitlyn; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2015 in the funeral home chapel with Minister Mike Rigsby officiating. Burial will be in Coalmont Cemetery with military honors provided by Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

YORK, SHARON, A., 56, passed away Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, TN. She was born in Whitwell, Tennessee on September 28, 1958. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Rollins; brother, David Rollins; sister, Sandi Hicks. She was a devoted Christian.

Survivors include her husband, Terry York; mother, Betty Layne; daughter, Amanda (Robert) Norris; sons, Jeremy (Alissa) and Jason (Amanda) Meeks; step children, Terry Lee York, Jr, and Christie-Ann Scott; sister, Connie Meeks; half-sister, Tonya Higginbottom; 11 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 31 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Wayne Norris officiating.

Burial was in Fall Creek Cemetery.
