Monteagle welcomed their newly elected mayor Monday evening at the city council meeting. Mayor Marilyn Rodman began the meeting and after completing old business, she turned over the reins to Mayor-elect Greg Maloof.
Prior to the swearing-in ceremony, Monteagle Elementary School’s Hand Bell Choir, led by Pam Maloof, performed the National Anthem.

In addition to the mayor, newly elected Alderman Dan Sargent and incumbent aldermen Jessica Favaloro, Dorraine Parmley and Nate Wilson were sworn in.
During the meeting, Building Inspector and Codes Enforcement Officer Earl Geary announced his resignation. He has served in that capacity for decades.
“It’s with a heavy heart that I have made the decision to give Monteagle up,” Geary said.
It is not known what steps will be taken in finding his replacement. However, Maloof stated, “I have scheduled meetings to address that as phase one.”
