A recent reshuffling of leaders in Grundy County schools saw the departure of two principals, and will have new faces welcoming students at the beginning of the school year at Palmer Elementary School, Coalmont elementary School, Swiss Memorial Elementary School, and Grundy County High School.

J7107892_Gohn Ross Jones, the former principal of PES, resigned his duties at the end of last school year and will serve on a teaching mission to China. Donald Partin will be the new principal at the school.

Dr. Russell Ladd will be the new principal at CES, a position previously held by Amanda Lance. Ladd has served in the past as the school’s principal.

At SMES, Kasey Woodlee resigned as principal this month, and Jamie Ruehling will take over her position.

Ruehling, the former principal of Grundy County High School, asked for the transfer to SMES according to Director of Schools Jessie Kinsey. Deidre Helton, who served as vice-principal under Ruehling at the high school, will be the new principal at GCHS. Adam Floyd will be the school’s vice-principal.

Kinsey says she is excited about the leadership skills, knowledge, and compassion exhibited by the school leaders.

“I am confident in their ability to support our teachers as they provide the children of Grundy County with an excellent education each day,” said Kinsey.
