Lavona Parson’s seventh and eighth grade reading classes at North Elementary School recently conducted a mock trial in which the Warden from the novel, “Holes,” was charged with abuse and neglect of the campers at Camp Green Lake. Aiden Lusk served as the prosecutor while Hallie Broadway played the role of defense attorney. Additional seventh graders assisted the attorneys in building their case and portrayed key characters from the novel. The jury, which consisted of eighth grade students, was unable to reach a verdict in the case. The trial was presided over by Landon Comer with some welcome assistance from Judge Trey Anderson. Parson and her students would like to take this opportunity to thank Judge Anderson for his assistance with the trial.
