One of the area’s most successful archery trails has set their schedule for 2015. Mountain Archery, run by Jason Tate, will hold nine weekend events throughout the year and two of those will be state qualifiers. Another will be the third leg of the King of the String Series.
“When I started Mountain Archery five years ago my goal was to try to give our community and traveling archery competitors a place to enjoy shooting their archery equipment. As the years passed many changes have taken place along the way including: incorporating shooter of the year, class changes, changing locations, a website, charity events, promoting ASA and others,” said Tate.
The dates of the shoots for this year are February 28-March 1, March 28-29, April 25-26, May 2-3, May 23-24, June 20-21, July 18-19, August 15-16 and September 12-13. The tournaments consist of 20 life-size McKenzie targets situated in the field and woods. The league has multiple classes to accommodate any skill level and, of course, there are plenty of prizes and awards at the shoots.
“With growth comes change to Mountain Archery. We have nine scheduled events including two state qualifiers, King of the String Series and possibly another triple crown event. With the help of Robbie Rollins, Carter Underhill and Matt Meeks we plan to make this a great year for the archery community,” added Tate.
All shoots are held at Chickory Drive in Monteagle and all are open to the public. Find full information on Mountain Archery at www.mountainarchery3dshoots.com. For more information you can call Jason Tate at 931-235-9547 or Robbie Rollins at 423-596-8530.
