On Saturday evening, Grundy County Sheriff’s deputies arrested two suspects in possession of a methamphetamine lab.

P.J. Thomas, 38, and Jonah Elaine Morris, 31, were taken into custody after deputies made contact with them in the parking lot of Elk Meadows Apartments in Coalmont. During the investigation, deputies discovered approximately four grams of methamphetamine, a handgun, and an operational meth lab.

The Dangerous Drugs Task Force was dispatched to the scene to assist with containing the lab.

Thomas and Morris have been charged with Promotion of Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Possession, Sale, and Delivery of Schedule II Drugs. Additionally, Thomas is charged with Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, and Aggravated Assault.

Both suspects have a Tracy City address and do not live at the apartment complex where the arrests occurred. Bond and court dates are pending.
