In January, students at Monteagle Elementary School participated in a “Pennies for Patients” fundraiser. The money raised will help children and young adults who suffer from Leukemia and Lymphoma, and will provide funds for research to help find better ways to treat these cancers.
MES set a goal to raise $800 in one month. All grade levels, Pre-K through eighth grade, participated in the fundraiser. Students brought in heaps of spare change, amounting to $1805.45, helping the school exceed their goal.
Each homeroom competed to receive a pizza party. Brian Master’s class donated $282.98, and earned the top spot. Natalie Burkard’s class came in a close second place with $257.92.
The school would like to thank their students and parents for participating in this worthy cause.
