Meet Your Circuit Court Clerk

Posted on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 11:18 am

My name is Crystal Stiefel, and I will be serving as your Grundy County Circuit Court Clerk. I have enjoyed serving you as a deputy clerk, and I am very excited to serve in this position. Please allow me to introduce myself to you. I am a native of Grundy County, raised in Gruetli-Laager, near the old skating rink-if you’re old enough to remember that! I still live in Gruetli with my husband Chad Stiefel. We have raised three children, Courtney Bird, Daniel, and Kristen, in this great community. You have likely met them through the years as they have participated in sports throughout the county.
Grundy County’s Circuit Court Clerk office serves five different courts. Each one has its own unique characteristics. We have a wonderful staff in the Court Clerk’s office including LuAnn Baum, Mitz Trussell, Shannon Dempsey, Kimberly Roberts-Lyle and Kayla McGee. In the juvenile office we have Lisa Kilgore and Ronda Birdwell.
We have started some activities that I feel will better prepare our office. We have created a schedule to job shadow other clerks’ offices in the surrounding counties. And, we have scheduled educational courses with COCTP (County Officials Certificate Training Program) which is administered by the University of Tennessee. I am on track to be certified in early 2018.
Our courts are full of challenges, and if you find yourself facing one of these challenges, my office and I will be there to support you. I love finishing my day knowing that I was able to do something to make someone else’s day better. It’s my goal to serve you and treat everyone in a professional, courteous, and fair manner.
