Grundy County Trustee Tyler McCullough has announced his intentions to offer “The Key To Success” scholarship he began last year. The scholarship is made possible thanks to so many wonderful business owners and citizens of this county. Last year’s scholarships totaled at $7,000 – one student received a scholarship in the amount of $6,000 and two other students was awarded $500.00 each.

“When this scholarship began I had the hopes of making a difference in some young man or woman’s life because college can be a financial burden on parents as well as students,” stated McCullough. “I was overwhelmed with the amount of people wanting to contribute financially. This year, I have set a goal to raise $10,000 to help the recipients of this year’s scholarships. If anyone is interested in applying applications will be available in the guidance counselors office the first week in February. Students will need to return the applications by March 16, 2018.”

The scholarship committee is made of members from different areas of Grundy County with all members having different backgrounds and professions. The board will review all applications and select the awardees. If anyone is interested in contributing financially to this wonderful cause and helping the children of Grundy County continue their success you may call the Grundy County Trustee’s office at 931-692-3369 and speak to Tyler McCullough; or contact Patricia Street at 931-592-3611.
