The Lady Jackets started their season at home with a win defeating Huntland 11-9. They fell to South Pittsburg 15-1 and to district opponent Cumberland County 8-1.
“The season has gotten off to a rocky start so far mainly due to inexperience in several positions. In all of our games so far we have dug ourselves into a hole early with errors and mental mistakes. We are still trying to solidify our defense with people in the positions that will help us the most.
“We have seen defensive improvement over the past 3 games, and we will continue to see more as the players in these new positions get more and more experience. Bailee has been throwing really well so far this season as we look to add some more pitching depth behind her.
“We play Marion Co. on Thursday in Jasper where we hope to see even more improvements against a district opponent. We are simply taking things one game at a time, and trying to strengthen our defense and offensive line-up one position at a time,” says head coach Jason Evan.
